Alethea Roche

Alethea emigrated from Hong Kong in 1985.

Her teachers at school encouraged her love of painting, which began at a young age.

She has received tuition from professional artists in Hong Kong, Christchurch and Auckland.

Alethea won awards for her watercolor and oil paintings at the Royal Easter Show. She also won People’s Choice for one of her paintings at the 2011 “Art at the Estuary” Hibiscus Coast Hospice fundraising exhibition.

Having worked in the airline & travel industry for many years she has had the privilege of extensive overseas travel, capturing many images of the vibrancy of nature, which she has a passion to share with others, through the medium of oil.

Her style is vibrant and cheerful, combining the luster of oil with the technique of watercolor.

Apart from painting, she tutors children’s art program during School holidays and assists his partner in running ‘Learn To Paint In One Day’ adult Workshop.
