INK-A PORTRAIT OF A CREATIVE SOUL Every strand of muka, cut, prepped, dried and bound together, woven into kākahu, brings together moments in time, memories and mindfulness, determination, and drive Kākahu weaving is a craft of patience, perseverance and passion that is a true reflection of the weaver Rosie Edwards, a tā moko artist and carver. Born abundantly creative, living and breathing artistically, she found solace in carving as a sense of belonging and identity. Searching for whakapapa on a deeper level, she found herself inspired by her people. In a male dominated field, she has solidified her place as one of Aotearoa New Zealand's leading female kai taa.
